The Small Reservoirs Project team would like to acknowledge contributions of the following people and organizations. And to thank them for their efforts on behalf of the project.
In the Volta basin, we thank members of the GLOWA Volta Project past and present without whom we would not have been able to accomplish nearly as much as we did. And in particular, we thank Dr. Boubacar Barry for his generous support both logistical and intellectual to the students and researchers working in the basin. And we thank all of the IWMI West Africa staff who welcomed our students and researchers and provided support of every kind. In Burkina Faso at IRSS Jean-Noël Poda’s professionalism and enthusiasm from the very beginning were important. The health center staff and Etienne C. Etongo-Ilengo of Broederlijk Delen, both at the Monastère de Koubri, teachers and officials from the Ministère d’Education, the villagers in Tanvi-Nakamtenga and the mayor of Koubri were patient and invaluable collaborators. Francis Bougaire, Director, National Direction of Water Resources management (DGRE) in Ouagadougou, was steadfast in his support, institutional as well as personal. In the Limpopo Basin we would like to thank all our partners who assisted us and participated to make this project a success. At the grass roots level we would like to thank all the farmers in and around Siwaze sub-catchment in Mzingwane Catchment and their extension officer Mr. S Ncube. We also thank the ZINWA staff on the ground who shared their data with us. Our gratitude also goes to the district personnel for all the facilitation they provided and DDF engineers for assistance in assessing the small reservoirs. We thank the ZINWA head office for all their help, Agritex for permission to work with their staff (extension, and veterinary), the MSc students from the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe who did most of the field work, the Department of Soil Science & Agricultural Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe for their logistical and technical assistance, specifically, vehicles, technicians, and laboratory services. We cherish the interactions we had with other CPWF projects, especially PN17. We also thank the Waternet/WARFSA/GWP consortium for affording us the opportunity to share our research findings with international and regional scientists at their annual regional symposia.
